I’ve been very lucky to have met so many wonderful patients, both new and long timers, and even luckier to have patients coming in for my services. Whether it’s Beauty injections, fillers, laser treatments, microneedling, chemical peels, or hormone pelleting, I always talk to my patients beforehand to determine their complaints, expectations, and desired results.
One overlapping concern I’ve noticed with many of my patients is skin texture. Causes include acne and acne scars, sun damage, pollution, excess dead skin cells, genetic aging, large pores, and more! Therefore, uneven skin texture is extremely common and we have a solution for you!
At OCPS, we offer microneedling using SkinPen–the very first FDA approved microneedling device in the US. Microneedling is an in-office procedure that takes approximately one hour for the face; however, many patients also include the neck and décolletage. We first go over the procedure, post care instructions, answer any questions you may have, and then apply numbing cream to the areas to be treated for 20-30 minutes beforehand.
So how does it work? Microneedling creates thousands of microchannels to stimulate your body’s ability to heal and enhance our collagen production. This rejuvenates the skin by remodeling scar tissue while maintaining the integrity of our skin. The great thing about microneedling is that it requires little downtime, it’s safe for all skin types, and it can be used year round! It’s recommended to begin with three treatments spaced 30 days apart, and then to do one treatment every six months for maintenance.
